Holy Yikes

Has it really been that long since I made an entry? Well, I have been busy. I haven't even had time to read the blogs other people blog that I used to read every single day, even though they only updated them about twice a week. Just what have I been so busy doing? (Sorry, I don't remember the HTML to make a bulleted list, and I don't feel like looking it up right now):

Up to and including the first week in July, I was trying to plan, write (in part), coordinate, and record that new Complacents episode. This also involved shopping for, purchasing, installing, and getting to work (more or less) a new sound card and a new, quiter tower for my PC, on which the thing was recorded.

Since that recording session, I have been busy not editing it. More specifically, I have spent several hours editing it, but requires several orders of time more than what I've already spent.

To give myself a break from the recording and editing, I continued my current game of Civilization III, in which my Vikings have risen to the supreme world power at the dawn of the Industrial Age... but there is no coal whatsoever within my vast borders!

At work, I have just finished usability testing of a prototype of the web site I have been developing over the past year and a half... just after serving on a committee in which I did usability testing of part of main library web site... boy, those videtaped test sessions sure are fun to transcribe! "And then, once again, the subject clicked on the Back button."

I'm preparing for our trip to London and Ireland, mostly by reading Oscar Wilde. (Now that guy sure can turn a phrase.)

And tonight I'm going to pick up my nephew Zack, who will be staying with us for the weekend. Last night I was stressign out because I hadn't cleaned up the apartment, but then it suddenly struck me: will a 9-year-old boy even notice? It would probably take human excrement on the floor to get his attention. (Which has happened recently in my basement, but that's another story.)
